Brian~I'm so sorry for your loss!

I feel VERY sad for my brother Brian, and what he has to do tomorrow. It is the hardest thing in the world to do and my thoughts and prayers are with him!

This is something I wanted to share with everyone;

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.....

Barbara....I cried when I read this. Losing a pet after 21 years is a very difficult thing to do..especially when you live alone with the pet. I just sent Brian an email pet loss card and sent him an encouraging email. I feel so bad for him as I know how attached he is to those dogs. I know Georgie will be a resident at Rainbow Bridge and Cosmo will join her some day. GREAT BLOG...Brian told me you had done it and that he was very pleased with how you did it. I always get sentimental when something happens to an animal and it is even harder when you know that animal personally. Brian was so proud of Georgie from day one. He brought her to the apartment on School Street to show her off...and he has talked about her ever since. I'll be thinking of Brian and the task that lays ahead of him tomorrow. Thanks for your kind words to Brian.

This was very nice, Barb. I'm sure that Brian appreciates your kind words. I believe that all pets go to a special animal heaven, so I'm sure that's where Georgie will go.
